Missaki Now 1-2 After Subduing Guardians
|
St. Louis picked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the Cleveland Guardians, 8-0. Pitcher Daniel Missaki was a major reason the Cardinals emerged victorious. The Guardians drop to 9-10 and continue their mediocre start to the 2026 season.
Missaki, a native of Brazil, was dealing all game. He kept Cleveland hitters off-balance, while giving the Cardinals 8.1 quality innings. Missaki threw 103 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 5.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said St. Louis skipper Aaron Thompson.
