Twins Top Red Sox, 8-4
|
Thanks in large part to left fielder Artie Cochran, the Minnesota Twins clipped the Boston Red Sox, 8-4, in 11 innings. Cochran was 5-6 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 6. Gilberto Mendez, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 1 innings. The Red Sox fall to 7-11 and continue their sputtering start to the 2026 season.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 11th. With two out, Cochran hit a curveball from Carlos Perez for a grand slam home run. The Twins, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Cochran.
