The Oakland Athletics went home winners at Yankee Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Aaron Nola. Nola stifled the New York Yankees, enabling Oakland to grab the 5-1 win. Nola picked up the win for Oakland, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.

Oakland took a 3-1 lead on Ramon Beltre's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Beltre hit in the top of the eighth, left New York pitcher Caleb Williams visibly frustrated.

Said losing manager Gary DiSarcina: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."

New York is now 10-8.
