Yankees Get Hard-Earned Win
Oakland right fielder Monte Harrison had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to New York at Yankee Stadium. Harrison went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New York pitcher R.J. Alvarez earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Vito Porchianelo suffered the loss. The Athletics drop to 8-12.

Hermengildo Forte was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was jumping at the end," Forte said.
