The Chicago White Sox got a stellar effort from pitcher Rocky Thompson, helping Chicago score a win over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays, 3-0. Chicago reliever Alec Asher picked up the win to move to 1-2. Orlando Estrada suffered the loss. The Rays fall to 7-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 2026 season.

Mike Hurt contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. His at-bat helped Chicago get the win.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Joey Cora. "That was the problem."
