Alex Martin knocked in 4 runs to help Minnesota beat Cincinnati, 9-3. The Blackshear, Georgia native tallied 1 single and 1 home run. For the Reds, the loss makes their record 8-12.

With Minnesota leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Martin hit a slider from Bert Gooderston for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 7-2.

"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Minnesota skipper Robin Ventura.
