White Sox Top Astros to Even Record
|
The Chicago White Sox beat the Houston Astros, 9-6, at Minute Maid Park. The White Sox got a fine performance from first baseman Dominic Smith, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times. Tim Brown got the win, improving to 2-2. He worked 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Steve Peters closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
In the first inning, Smith had a solo home run for Chicago. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the White Sox on top, 1-0.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said White Sox manager Morgan Ensberg. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The Astros fall to 7-13 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2026 season.
