Royals Topple Yankees with Late Rally
Scott Blewett, who finished 3rd in the AL in wins with 15 in 2023, had a strong outing for the Kansas City Royals against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-3 win. The winner was Kansas City reliever Kevin Martin, now 2-1. The loser was R.J. Alvarez. Kansas City, now 8-13, is off to a slow start.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of Jimmy Reeves to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Royals on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It never gets old," said Reeves. "Winning, that is."
