Hammers Fall Short, 2-1, at Philadelphia
In a low-scoring affair between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Hammers, pitcher Ron Ross was the difference between victory and defeat. The Philadelphia right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Phillies win. The winner was Ross. He threw 6.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Rocky Edwards. The triumph makes Philadelphia 12-8, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2026.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Phillies had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when designated hitter Ryan McBroom hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Rocky Edwards and made the score 1-0, Phillies. McBroom went 1-4.

"Ron really held it together well," said Philadelphia manager Chaz Frank.
