Detroit got a strong outing from Jeferson Mejia as the Tigers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 1-0, at Comerica Tigers Park. Mejia, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Tomás Mendoza earned the save, his 6th, for the Tigers.

Detroit shortstop Luis Guillorme contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 20th hit of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 1-0.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Mejia.

Milwaukee, with the loss, is still a hardy 18-4.
