Cubs Suffer 3-1 Home Defeat
|
Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Ron Ross was in fine form, leading his team past the Chicago Cubs, 3-1. The winner was Ross. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Chris McCarthy. Alex Claudio closed it out for his 8th save.
Jonas Lantigua, who finished 3rd in the NL in RBI with 112 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lantigua contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Philadelphia up, 2-0.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Ross.
The Cubs fall to 10-14 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2026 season.
