Joey Gatto, who leads the NL with a 0.70 WHIP, was locked in. The right-hander led the Washington Nationals to a 4-3 win against the Atlanta Hammers at Nationals Park. The save was credited to Robbie McJannett, his 2nd. The triumph makes Washington 16-10, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2026.

Washington took a 3-2 lead on Christian Bethancourt's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Bethancourt hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Atlanta pitcher Joel Nelson visibly frustrated.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Bethancourt said.
