Nationals Beaten By Mets, 6-4

Mathies Reuter did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Washington Nationals from being beaten, 6-4, to the New York Mets at Nationals Park. Reuter went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Braden Shipley, the winner, goes to 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts over 6 innings. The Mets are off to a tough start, getting just their 9th win in 25 games.
New York took advantage of an error in the top of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Mike Wilson hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Mets in front, 5-3.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Wilson.
