The Houston Astros beat the Texas Rangers, 11-2, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The win was due in part to first baseman Jonathan Roberts, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Greg Connolly. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. Houston is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 9th win in 26 games.

Bernard Antonelli had a big 2-run home run for the Astros in the top of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Tim Hurst, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 185 in 2022, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Astros on top, 4-0.

"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Texas manager Eric Wedge.
