The Texas Rangers took Houston pitcher Lachlan Madden's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The final score had Texas getting past the Astros, 3-2. Madden went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. Daniel Gomez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Lachlan Madden, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in quality starts with 4, was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Lou Green, his 7th.

Sean Carver had a big run-scoring double for the Rangers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Texas leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Lachlan Madden, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in quality starts with 4, and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 3-0.

"Every loss hurts," said Houston manager Chris W. Carter. "But this was a tough one."

The Astros drop to 9-18, as their stumbling start to the 2026 season continues.
