McSweeney Now 4-1 After Beating Royals
|
Conditions were not ideal but Houston and Kansas City were able to put their game in the books.
Vince McSweeney, who is tied for 4th in the AL in wins with 4, imposed his will on the Royals from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the left-hander spearheaded the 6-0 Houston triumph. Houston is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 10th win in 27 games.
In his 113-pitch effort, McSweeney allowed no runs on 5 hits over 7.1 innings. He walked 1 and struck out 10.
"Vince pitched his heart out," said Houston manager Manny Acta.
