West Virginia Draws Blanks Against Pitt
Sunday, July 27th , 2025
The West Virginia Black Bears were almost helpless in their 15-0 loss to the Vermont Lake Monsters and hurler Lonnie Pitt. Pitt kept the Black Bears confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Pitt," West Virginia manager Edwin Moreno said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 23-year-old left-hander had 4 walks and 10 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Pitt said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
On the season, Pitt has 1 win and 3 losses and a 4.06 ERA.
