Brooklyn Shuts Out Vermont Behind Moloney, 10-0
Monday, August 11th , 2025
The Vermont Lake Monsters manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Brooklyn Cyclones. The Lake Monsters were overpowered by Brooklyn starter Ron Moloney, who hurled his club to victory, 10-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Grant Green said.

Over 9 innings, Moloney blanked Vermont on 2 hits with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Moloney said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Moloney has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 4-0 record with a 2.14 ERA. The Brooklyn reliever has limited opposing batters to a .199 batting average.
