Marshall Belts Bunch of Base Hits Monday, August 25th , 2025 Jim Marshall told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Marshall of the Hudson Valley Renegades did against the State College Spikes. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, but his club still suffered a defeat, 8-7. "Not much I can say," offered Marshall in the postgame press conference. "I got a bunch of hits, but it would have been much better to get a win. Can I trade 5 hits for the win?" Jim Marshall singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Maxime Catanei in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
