Edgar López was a calming influence out of the Staten Island Yankees bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 21-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the New York-Penn League Reliever of the Year for 2025.

The Jima Abajo, Dominican Republic native won the award with 11 saves in 26 relief appearances, 33 strikeouts in 35 innings and a record of 3-6 to go with his 2.57 ERA.

He received 14 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Juan Barrera of the Connecticut Tigers finished second in voting, while Tim Lewis of the Lowell Spinners finished third.
