2025 NYP Top Player Trophy Given to Martínez Thursday, September 18th , 2025 He may have less experience than most of his New York-Penn League peers, but that didn't slow Juan Martínez down at all in 2025. At the age of 20, the Connecticut right fielder has been named the winner of the New York-Penn League Most Valuable Player Award. He had a .328 batting average and a .371 on-base percentage this year. In 38 games he piled up 42 hits, 14 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 14.
