Hughes Hurls No-Hitter Against Pirates Sunday, August 24th , 2025 The Bristol Pirates had no answer for pitcher Chris Hughes and the Bluefield Blue Jays. Hughes tossed a no-hitter against the Pirates, totaling 13 strikeouts and 1 walk in an impressive 5-0 win at Bowen Field. "Everything was working today," he told reporters following the game. "I had excellent location and great movement on my pitches. Good things happen when all of it comes together like that." The Bristol clubhouse emptied out quickly following the game. Pirates skipper Jumbo Diaz joked that it was "as silent as our bats were today." "I don't have much to say to you guys right now," he told BNN reporters. "I'm speechless after that performance."
