Danville Eliminated from Playoff Contention Friday, August 29th , 2025 The dream of lifting a championship banner above the home field of the Danville Firebirds has been extinguished, at least for 2025. The club was formally eliminated from playoff contention today. Asked to comment on the news, Firebirds manager Jeff Walters issued a one-word statement, which cannot be printed by BNN. The Firebirds have missed the playoffs 10 times in their 11 years as a Appalachian League franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 8th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2017. |
