Great Day for Watson -- 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 6th , 2025
It was a sensational day at the plate for Lou Watson as he led the charge to a nifty 8-5 win over the Cubs. The Detroit (VSL) center fielder was pure misery for the Chicago (VSL) pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Watson put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Ramon Borrego, manager for the Cubs, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Lou Watson hit a two-run triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In 17 games Watson is hitting .426 this season with 26 hits, 1 home run, 16 RBIs, 6 walks, .514 OBP and has scored 16 runs.
