Hits Galore: Martelo Drills 5 Hits Friday, December 14th, 2018 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Bryan Martelo today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at New Beaver Grounds and paced the Phillies to a 16-2 win over the WL White Sox. After his dynamite batting performance, the WL left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Bryan Martelo singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Chris Fletcher in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season Martelo is swinging the bat at a .419 pace. He has hit 4 home runs and scored 8 times, while driving in 10. His on-base percentage is .444 and he has played in 11 games.
