McGriff Whiffs 15, WL Tops WL Friday, January 4th, 2019 WL Angels starter Derrek McGriff brought his best stuff to Monsters Stadium today against the WL Royals, striking out 15 batters in his club's 10-1 victory. In a strong performance, the 22-year-old McGriff gave up 4 hits in his 8 innings of work and issued no walks. "I felt good out there," he said after the game. "My fastball had a lot of life and my curveball was sharp. It was giving hitters fits and working well for me." So far this season McGriff has 1 win and 1 loss and a 3.51 ERA.
