Jones and Gonzalez Suspended, Out 3 Games Wednesday, July 2nd , 2025 You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Wrigley Field. A free-for-all broke out when Ernie Jones of Cleveland and Severino Gonzalez of Chicago rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game. Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 3 games. Thus far this season, Jones has hit .225 with 9 home runs, 39 RBIs and scored 30 times. This season, Gonzalez has rung up 4 wins and 6 losses in 18 games. He has an ERA of 5.10 and has fanned 48 batters in 67 innings. |
