Nava Hurls No-Hitter Against Dodgers
Friday, July 25th , 2025
In a dominant outing, Tony Nava of the Boston Red Sox totally silenced the bats of the Los Angeles Dodgers, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 8-0 victory, Nava faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 5 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Boston manager Alvin Morman said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Torey Lovullo told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.
"The Red Sox had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Nava pitched a heck of a ballgame."
For the season, Nava has logged 7 wins and 7 losses and struck out 107 batters in 125.2 innings while compiling a 4.58 ERA.
