Mariners-Marlins Swap: Quackenbush for Wallace Thursday, July 31st , 2025 The Baseball News Network is reporting that Seattle and Miami have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 36-year old RHP Kevin Quackenbush to the Marlins with 22-year old minor league RHP Ron Wallace, 20-year old minor league C Jim Smith, and 25-year old minor league 1B Samuel Borel joining the Mariners. Seattle general manager Damon Macioce would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league. Seattle will retain a portion of Quackenbush's remaining contract. So far this season, Quackenbush is 0-and-2 with no saves and a 3.26 ERA. He has given up 30 hits in 30.1 innings with 33 strikeouts. |
