Miami, New York Confirm Swap Thursday, July 31st , 2025 After prolonged negotiations Miami agreed to ship 28-year old 1B Bob MacKerchar and 24-year old minor league RHP Caleb Williams to New York for 34-year old RHP Jake Barrett, 25-year old SS Oscar Price, and 23-year old minor league RHP Mike Armstrong. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." New York will retain a portion of Barrett's remaining contract. Up to this point in the season, Barrett has put up these stats: 38 relief appearances, 17 saves, 39.1 IP, 34 strikeouts and 2.75 ERA. His won-lost record is 5-7 with the opposition is hitting .266 against him. |
