Reds Matz Tames Atlanta Saturday, August 2nd , 2025 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Atlanta Firebirds as starter Steven Matz shut them out, 6-0, at Great American Ball Park. The Cincinnati pitcher struck out 8 and walked 0 while allowing 3 hits. "Matz was good but he wasn't flawless," Atlanta manager Barry Larkin said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Cincinnati, but this is on us."
