Mejia Batters San Diego Big Time Saturday, August 30th , 2025 It was a high-five day for Francisco Mejia, at least for a while. The Minnesota catcher got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the San Diego Padres, but they were in short supply at the end, as San Diego won the game, 7-6. Mejia finished with an impressive 5-for-5 line, but the Twins couldn't hold off the Padres. "Francisco was hitting everything," said Twins manager Robin Ventura. "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion." Francisco Mejia doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
