Houston LF Jones Suspended Monday, September 1st , 2025 For his part in an altercation with an umpire over a third strike, Houston Astros left fielder Devin Jones will have to sit out 3 games. The league commissioner's office today notified the Astros that Jones had been suspended for his poor conduct during the Angels game yesterday at Minute Maid Park. After being ejected, Jones turned and walked toward the dugout, but then turned around, began yelling at the umpire and kicked dirt on home plate. The league said this type of behavior is not acceptable and will be dealt with according to league disciplinary policies. This season, Jones has hit at a .256 clip with 59 RBIs, 14 home runs and 68 runs scored. He has played in 135 games. |
