Chicago Eliminated from Playoff Contention Sunday, September 21st , 2025 While they stayed relevant until late in the season, a playoff berth wasn't meant to be this season for the Chicago White Sox. The club was eliminated from playoff contention today. "Even though we knew where things stood, it's a disappointment," White Sox manager Fredi Gonzalez said. Chicago last appeared in the postseason in 2008. This is their 17th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 118 times in their 125-year history. Chicago has won the World Series 3 times in their history. |
