Postseason Bid Ends for Cincinnati Monday, September 22nd , 2025 It's now time for the Cincinnati Reds to start turning their attention to what can be done to help improve the club for next season. The team was formally eliminated from playoff contention today for the 2025 season. "We knew a title was a long shot at this point, but mentally there's a big difference between a tiny chance and no chance at all," said Reds closer Anthony DeSclafani. The Reds have made the playoffs 14 times in their 136 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 6th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2019. In the last 10 seasons, the Reds have only made the playoffs once. Cincinnati has won the World Series 5 times in their history. |
