No Late-Season Magic Coming: Tampa Bay Out of Playoffs Wednesday, September 24th , 2025 The Tampa Bay Rays may still need a piece or two before becoming championship material in Major League Baseball. The team has fallen short of its playoff goals this year, being officially eliminated from the playoffs today. "I feel like we have a great group," Rays manager Joey Cora said. "We happened to come up short or our goal, though. We'll re-tool and be back stronger next season." The Rays have made the playoffs 5 times in their 28 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 4th in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2021. In the last 10 seasons, the Rays have only made the playoffs once. |
