Kondo's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback
Friday, March 27th , 2026
All is not well with Toshikuni Kondo in his recovery from a sprained ankle.
The 33-year-old Dodgers first baseman has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Kondo and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday.
"Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it."
A post-workout examination revealed that Kondo had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 1-2 weeks because of it.
