Carroll Outstanding, No-Hits Athletics Tuesday, April 14th , 2026 Fans at Yankee Stadium got a rare gift today as Jonathon Carroll of the Yankees tossed a no-hitter against the Oakland Athletics. Although Carroll did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 9 and walking 0 in a 3-0 New York victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Oakland manager Bob Melvin said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Carroll faced only 27 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems.
