San Diego Stops Snyder Hit Streak Monday, April 27th , 2026 Rob Snyder came rolling into today's game against the San Diego Padres with a 20-game hitting string, but he left it on the field at Petco Park. The 24-year-old Chicago Cubs shortstop went 0-for-3 against the Padres as the Cubs fell, 4-1. "I swung at a couple pitches I probably shouldn't have and I didn't swing at a couple I probably should have," he said, grimacing. "But that's what makes a hit streak so impressive in the first place -- it only takes a couple mistakes to end it all." Looking at his present stats, Snyder has compiled a .366 batting average in 27 games with a .423 on-base percentage, while hitting no home runs and driving in 11 runs. |
