AL's #1 Player Named Monday, June 29th , 2026 Boston fans have something to crow about today as Boston first baseman Patrick Vitzhum nabbed the American League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Vitzhum. He posted a .400 average (8-for-20) this past week with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. This season, Vitzhum is swinging the bat at a .306 rate with 91 hits in 297 at-bats. To date he has hit 6 home runs, scored 29 runs and driven in 33. |
