Athletics Trade Rodríguez to Blue Jays for Weber Friday, July 31st , 2026 The Athletics have reached a deal with Toronto, sending 29-year old 2B Héctor Rodríguez and 27-year old 3B Gabriel Corporan to the Blue Jays in exchange for 22-year old minor league 2B José López and 25-year old minor league 1B Jim Weber. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon. Currently Rodríguez is batting .244 with 70 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 21 runs and scored 30 times. Weber is currently batting .218 with 3 home runs, 13 runs scored and 14 RBIs. His OBP is .281. |
