Oakland, Atlanta Trade Made Friday, July 31st , 2026 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Athletics announced today the acquisition of 26-year old minor league CF Jeff O'Brien and 26-year old minor league LF Phil Walker from the Atlanta Hammers in exchange for 25-year old RHP Chip Hayes. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Athletics, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." So far this season, Walker has gotten 38 hits in 179 at-bats for a .212 batting average with 4 home runs. His stats include 19 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has played in 47 games. |
