5-for-5 Game for Flores Tuesday, August 11th , 2026 It was a sensational day at the plate for Wilmer Flores as he led the charge to a nifty 7-5 win over the Mets. The Atlanta first baseman was pure misery for the New York pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Flores put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Mike Matheny, manager for the Mets, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Wilmer Flores singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Pat Gross in the 9th.
