Monday, August 17th , 2026
In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Mike Trout of Los Angeles recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the American League Player of the Week Award.
"I've been playing since I was a kid," Trout told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success."
Trout outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 9 hits in 22 at-bats, 3 home runs, and 9 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.
In 121 games this season, Trout has batted at a .283 pace with 123 hits and 17 home runs.
