Rehab Setback for Franklin Barreto Friday, August 21st , 2026 After being examined by team doctors yesterday, Cubs second baseman Franklin Barreto was told that his rehabilitation time would be increased to one week because he still had some pain and soreness. The medical staff did not want to activate him until he is totally healthy. Barreto is recovering from an elbow contusion. On the season, Barreto is batting .245 with 7 home runs and 40 RBIs. He has played in 118 games. |
