Erickson Goes 5-for-6 Against Oakland Saturday, August 22nd , 2026 The Texas Rangers stopped the Oakland Athletics by a score of 13-10 at Globe Life Park in Arlington, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Wes Erickson. The 29-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Erickson said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Erickson did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Athletics. "Not much that I can say," offered Oakland manager Bob Melvin. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Wes Erickson singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
