Camacho on Fire: 5-for-5 for Texas Wednesday, September 23rd , 2026 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Luis Camacho, it came around today. The 28-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Globe Life Park in Arlington to pace the 11-0 Texas Rangers victory over the New York Mets. New York skipper Mike Matheny told reporters in the press room that "Camacho deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Camacho hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Luis Camacho singled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. At present, Camacho is batting .368 with 218 hits and no home runs. He has knocked in 57 runs and scored 103 times. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
