Chicago Bats Silenced by Cervantes Saturday, September 26th , 2026 Boston Red Sox starter Juan Cervantes really did a number on the Chicago Cubs, shutting them out, 1-0, on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 9 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Chicago manager Warren Schaeffer. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Cervantes." On his stats sheet this season, Cervantes shows a 17-6 record, 33 starts, 220 innings, 223 strikeouts and a 2.41 ERA. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
