Tigers Win League Divisional Series Thursday, October 8th , 2026 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Detroit Tigers have edged the Tampa Bay Rays. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested League Divisional Series, with a 9-5 win in the clincher being the difference for Detroit and giving them the ticket to the League Championship Series with a 3-2 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Johan Sala, who was named series MVP.
