Verlander signs with the Aurora

The Vancouver Aurora confirmed the signing of star SP Justin Verlander. The Aurora inked the the veteran righty to a 1 year deal that will reportedly pay him $3.5 million for the 2021 season. GM Nate Brooks spoke on the importance of signing Verlander for the Aurora. ” We felt we needed to bring in some star power in our first season in Vancouver to make sure our fanbase knows they are going to see special talent on the field for every home game. Bringing in Verlander gives our young rotation a real workhorse to learn from, he’s one of the best pitchers of his generation. We still feel like he has it in the tank to deliver us 25-30 starts this season”. Verlander’s numbers have decreased in the last few seasons playing for the Dodgers and Detroit however it was only 2 seasons ago he went 5-0 with the Tigers before missing extensive time with a herniated disk in his back. The Aurora have not been quiet this offseason. Several large deals with the Giants have brought in multiple young assets as well as Closer Kenley Jansen. They also signed SP Taijuan Walker to a massive 10 year contract and made a trade with their division rival the Seattle Mariners for LF Christian Yelich.
